The idea

Develop 2.0 - the youth-led future of development is a project management platform with social network components which allows for peer-to-peer based project realization.
Many young people in developing countries are making efforts to make poverty history one day in the near future. They want change to make a positive difference in their world. They go to International Youth Conferences as the World Youth Congress 2010 in Istanbul to get trained and develop there project ideas. To succeed, they often only lack a little bit of money, certain resources or some professional advice.
In Germany as in other developed countries, pupils learn about the difficulties of people in developing countries – in class. What they learn at school, however, often remains theoretical knowledge only. Practical examples and opportunities to interact with people in developing countries are lacking. They would like to help and to get involved in concrete projects, but do not always want a longterm commitment in a classical development organisation.

Emily May Büning - Germany's UN Youth Delegate 2009 supports Develop 2.0

Youth is not only the future, but the present of our world today.

More than half of the population worldwide is under 25. Therefore, it is up to US,
to change this world for the better and work together across continents to create a global society where everyone has the same possibilities.

Take the opportunity of Develop 2.0 and get involved!

The aim

Young people in developing countries shall get the chance to realize their projects, while young people of developed countries shall be given the chance to experience development aid practically beyond school lessons – LEARNING BY HELPING!

The focus is on peer-to-peer-help, which enables youth themselves to be the change!

Youth-led development: The projects

From a generation-spanning meeting in the Czech Republic and trainings for farmers about the topic of ecological agriculture in Turkey right up to family counseling centers for desperate parents and children in Guatemala, everything is possible conceivable within the scope of projects of chosen partners. You find further information in the section “Projects” – get started yourself!

Learning by helping: The supporters

A class at a school in Munich is helping a youth-led project in Asia, a MUN group in Hamburg helps in a project in Latin America, a scout’s group in Dortmund helps in a project in Ukraine: The supporter (also called “Support Groups” within the frame of Develop 2.0) enable a project’s implementation by a long-term commitment. Thereby, they are given the chance to experience development aid more than just in theory. Learning by Helping! You find more further information in the section “Supporter”…
